  • Evaluated the economic impact of local public investment using panel data at the municipal level.
  • Estimated effects on employment, economic activity, and territorial attractiveness.
  • Applied quasi-experimental methods (staggered difference-in-differences, local projections, inverse probability weighting).
  • Produced policy-oriented analyses to inform public investment strategies, finding a low multiplier (~0.11) with positive spillover effects on neighboring municipalities.

Ph.D. Researcher in Applied Economics Nov 2020 – Dec 2023

  • Conducted independent econometric research on the macroeconomic effects of structural reforms in developing countries, resulting in three peer-reviewed publications.
  • Designed and applied advanced causal inference methods (local projections, LP-IPWRA, entropy balancing) to estimate the dynamic and heterogeneous effects of policy reforms while correcting for selection bias.
  • Built and analyzed large-scale sectoral and cross-country panel datasets covering up to 64 developing countries over 25–45 year periods.
  • Identified reform sequencing strategies (gradualism vs. “big bang” approaches) and translated findings into evidence-based policy recommendations for governments and international institutions.
  • Analyzed the role of the IMF in promoting structural reforms, integrating political-economy and institutional dimensions into empirical models.

  • Conducted independent empirical research on financial reforms and income inequality, later published in Open Economies Review.
  • Applied panel data models and causal inference techniques to assess the impact of financial sector reforms on income distribution across developing economies.
